The Cactus Dragon and Their Friend
It is not often that one is given or stumbles upon a Drakainaktos seedpod, but the lifelong bond that forms between the dragon seedling and its mortal strikes "as quick and true as a cactus dragon's spines," as the saying goes.
What starts as a caretaker role quickly turns to partnership as the seedling takes root and sprouts, though it takes several hundred years to mature to adulthood. Each Drakainaktos is unique, with its own striations and markings, as well as the shape, size, and orientation of its spines. Their wings are usually made of flowers, though some Drakainaktos do have leafy foliage. As seedlings, they are almost uniformly round and bulbous and grow out of that stage in three specific phases. By the time they are adolescents, they are miniaturized versions of their adult forms.
As the dragon and their keeper travel together, different situations and circumstances allow each Drakainaktos' unique gifts and personality to shine, with some dragons having natural affinities for glorious combat or stealthy exploration, and others still are the high point of any social gathering.

Your mount deals the damage of one of its melee Strikes to each creature whose space you move through, with a basic Reflex save against your mount’s Athletics DC. On a critical failure, the creature also becomes off-guard until the end of your next turn. Roll the damage only once. You can damage a given creature only once during this movement.

Your New Best Friend
Cacti dragon live in a variety of environments, but prefer hot or arid wildernesses such as salt flats, deserts, or steppes. Instead of burrowing, they create large wallows or depressions where they carefully arrange rock and plant collections into beautifully organized sand gardens. These wallows get larger and more complex over time, providing insight into the dragon's life and aspirations. The bold and brave seek out these prickly creatures for their wisdom in surviving and thriving in harsh environments, and for their famed hospitality - no one ever goes hungry in a Drakainaktos' garden as a matter of pride and reputation.
