Harness the full might of your draconic gift!
Whether a willing ally, or terrible foe, channeling draconic essence directly into one's body comes with a price. Although temporary, the draconic acolyte gains an edict that encourages the player to act in ways inspired by their draconic benefactor. This should be seen as an opportunity to explore what it means to be a knight of another creature so bound by their nature…and how much carries over when the battle ends…
Archetype Draconic Acolyte
Prerequisites Draconic Acolyte Dedication
Requirements Your spectral dragon is in your space.
Trigger You channel draconic essence.
You call your spectral dragon into yourself, channeling the power of a dragon directly. Your spectral dragon manifests protectively around you in the form of scales, armor, or spiritually overlapping your form. The spectral dragon occupies the same square as you at all times while in this stance. If you leave this stance while still Channeling Draconic Essence, your spectral dragon remains in the square it was occupying.
Regardless of how the spectral dragon manifests around you, while in this stance you are protected by draconic armor. The draconic armor is heavy armor but uses your highest armor proficiency. The draconic armor's statistics are: AC Bonus +5; Dex Cap +1; Check Penalty –2; Speed Penalty –10 feet; Strength +3; Bulk 1; Group plate; and it has the bulwark armor trait. You gain its armor specialization effect. Any bonuses, runes, and magical abilities of your actual armor are suppressed, but any runes that could apply to the draconic armor are replicated onto it.
While channeling their essence into yourself, your draconic benefactor's spirit blends with your own. You gain the following edict but only while in this stance.
Edicts Act as a paragon of your draconic benefactor's virtues and vices.
If you have Benefactor's Wings, you gain a fly speed of 30 feet while you maintain this stance.
You can use Knight of the Dragon as a reaction only when the trigger is met, but you can use it as a 1-action activity without the trigger being met.
Your Dragon Magic spells always match your draconic benefactor's tradition and can only be cast while channeling draconic essence, even if you are trained in spell attacks and spellcasting DC from another source.

The damage’s type matches the breath of your draconic benefactor. You then can’t Channel Draconic Essence again for 1d4 hours as your draconic gift must recharge its power.

When you land, you explode in energy matching your draconic benefactor's breath weapon damage type, dealing 8d4 damage (basic Reflex save) to all creatures in a 15-foot emanation.
