With alchemy, anything is possible. And no one truly knows this more than alchemy dragons. Believing themselves to be the inventors of alchemy, these dragons are often at the forefront of alchemical research, with constant experimentation on themselves and other less willing subjects.
With the constant need for supplies for their experimentation, these dragons can often be found in or near large trade cities and universities, choosing to work with the population or to steal from it, depending on the dragons temperment on any given day. Universities dedicated to alchemical research have been known to approach these dragons in hopes to gain access to their knowledge, often with bribes of alchemical foods that the institution has invented.
Alchemy dragons will meet with each other every couple of of decades to share their progress in their chosen specializations as a chance to show off and for inspiration. These meetings are a form of competition for the dragons and determines the relatively local hierarchy, with their discoveries voted on by all in the group, with a strict rule of not voting for themselves. The higher up the hierarchy a particular dragon is, the more respect and deferrence of resources these dragons get, causing the dragons to relocate to different territories often.
Alchemy dragons are unlikely to practice magic, but if they do it tends to be for assistance in whatever their alchemical specialization tends to be and less likely for combat applications.
