Draconic Aspirant (Archetype)

Your meeting with a dragon changed you permanently. You might've encountered a dragon that helped you in some way and maybe even took you in as their disciple, or you might've survived an encounter with a ruthless dragon that destroyed your whole village and you've vowed to destroy them even if it means transforming into what you despise in order to get your revenge.

Duplicate Feats

If a feat you take from this archetype would grant you an ancestry feat that you already have, you instead gain a different dragonblood ancestry feat of the same or lower level that you meet the prerequisites for.

Draconic Aspirant Dedication

Access you have a strong connection to dragons (such as by being a dragonscaled kobold, a dragon instinct barbarian, draconic bloodline sorcerer, or dragonblood), or you have encountered a dragon and lived


You aspire to become more like dragons, either because of your admiration or hatred toward dragons. You gain the dragonblood versatile heritage (If you already had the dragonblood heritage, you instead gain a 1st level dragonblood ancestry feat of your choice that you meet the prerequisites for). You must choose your draconic exemplar when you take this dedication, and if you already had a draconic benefactor, exemplar, or instinct (such as by being a sorcerer with the draconic bloodline, a barbarian with the dragon instinct, or a Draconic Acolyte) then your draconic exemplar for this archetype must be the same type of dragon.
    You also gain a 1st level dragonblood ancestry feat of your choice with the lineage trait. You must choose a lineage that is appropriate for your draconic exemplar, but you ignore the lineage trait's normal limitations.


Special You can take the Draconic Acolyte dedication without taking two non-dedication feats from this archetype, and you can take this dedication even if you haven't taken more than two non-dedication feats from the Draconic Acolyte archetype.

You grow scales that protect you from weapons and elements alike. You gain the Draconic Resistance and the Scaly Hide dragonblood ancestry feats, ignoring Scaly Hide's limitation for level.

Draconic Weapons

Prerequisites Draconic Aspirant dedication


You become even more dragonlike, growing a tail and other natural weapons. You gain the Draconic Aspect ancestry feat, ignoring its limitation for level. You gain all of the unarmed attacks from Draconic aspect instead of choosing a single unarmed attack, and their damage die size is increased by one step.
    If you have the Breath of the Dragon feat, any time you critically succeed at a Strike with a Draconic Aspect unarmed attack, you recharge your Breath of the Dragon immediately.


Special If your draconic exemplar is an adamantine dragon, then your Draconic Aspect unarmed attacks have the special properties of adamantine.

The draconic blood within you grows thicker. You gain two dragonblood ancestry feats of your choice that you meet the prerequisites for. You can use one of the feats you gain via this feat to fulfil the prerequisites of the second feat.

You can unleash your power similar to dragons. You make three Strikes with your Draconic Aspect unarmed attacks. Each Strike must be made with a different Draconic Aspect unarmed attack but you can use them in any order.

Draconic Breath

You can use your magic to empower your breath weapon. You gain the dragon breath sorcerer bloodline spell, and the Formidable Breath dragonblood ancestry feat, even if you don't meet its prerequisites. Your spellcasting ability is Charisma for this spell, and you become trained in spell attacks and spell DCs if you weren’t already.

You grow truly majestic wings. You gain the True Dragon's Flight dragonblood ancestry feats, even if you don't meet its prerequisites. You also gain a wing unarmed attack. Your wing unarmed attack is in the club group, deals 1d4 bludgeoning damage and has the shove, reach and unarmed traits, and it counts as a Draconic Aspect unarmed attack and is affected by abilities that interact with or upgrade them (such as Draconic Weapons, or Draconic Frenzy).

Your natural weapons carry the power of your dragon's breath. Your Draconic Aspect unarmed attacks gain a property rune depending on the damage type of your draconic exemplar's breath weapon. This rune doesn't count toward your maximum rune count.

Draconic Form

Prerequisites Draconic Aspirant dedication


You learned how to take the form of your draconic exemplar. Once per day, you cast dragon form as an innate spell, heightened to half your level rounded up. This spell has the same tradition as your draconic exemplar. When you cast this innate spell, you must transform into your draconic exemplar.


Special If you have the Form of the Dragon dragonblood ancestry feat, you can cast dragon form from this feat once per hour instead.

Aspect Casting

If you're playing with aspect casting (Magic+), your GM can allow Draconic Form to grant the dragon shift aspect spell instead of dragon form.

Your draconic presence allows you to summon other dragons to your aid. You can cast incarnate draconic legion once per day as an innate spell. This spell has the same tradition as your draconic exemplar. You also gain master proficiency in spell attacks and spell DCs.

Sanctified Dragon's Might

Prerequisites Draconic Aspirant dedication; your draconic exemplar is a dragon with either the holy or the unholy trait, or a dragon that can use holy or unholy abilities (like a sky dragon, your GM is the final arbiter on which other dragons fit this prerequisite)


You embody some of the divine power of your draconic exemplar. You become sanctified and gain either the holy or the unholy trait of your choice. You can choose the opposite trait of your dragon's sanctification if you view your draconic exemplar as your enemy instead of admiring them. You also gain either the Eternal Blessing or the Eternal Bane cleric feat according to your sanctification.


Special If you have any Draconic Aspect unarmed attacks, then they gain the sanctified trait.

Vorpal Dragon's Might

Your claws function similar to your exemplar’s chin blade. Your Draconic Aspect claw unarmed attack gains the vorpal rune. This rune doesn't count toward your maximum rune count. In addition, the DC for the vorpal rune’s Snicker-Snack reaction is the higher of your class DC or spell DC, and uses your level to calculate the incapacitation trait’s effects instead of the rune's level.

True Draconic Form

Prerequisites Breath of the Dragon; Draconic Defences; Draconic Flight


You have finally become a true dragon. You gain the dragon trait, and become immune to the damage type you gained a resistance to from the Draconic Resistance feat. You also age at the same rate as other dragons and can live for thousands of years. You gain the Shape of the Dragon action, allowing you to shapeshift between your draconic form and your humanoid form at will.
Shape of the Dragon a (concentrate, magical, polymorph) Effect You transform into your draconic form, which looks like your draconic exemplar. Your size increases to Huge, your reach becomes 15 feet, and you gain a +10 circumstance bonus to your fly Speed. Unlike normal for a polymorph effect, your gear is not absorbed into you but instead change their shape to fit your new form, and you can activate your gear as normal. You can remain in your draconic form indefinitely, and you can shift back to your humanoid form by using this action again.


Special If you live for long enough after taking this feat, you become an ancient dragon, which increases your size in your draconic form to Gargantuan. Your GM determines how many years it takes for you to become an ancient dragon but usually it takes at least a hundred years.

Prerequisites True Dragon's Flight


Your wings have become almost as grand as a true dragon’s. Your fly Speed from True Dragon's Flight increases to be equal to your Speed or 30 ft, whichever is faster. In addition, when you fly, you don't count moving upward (straight up or diagonally) as moving through difficult terrain.
