Humble Bearer Thaumaturge Class Archetype (Wyrmslayer Implement)

Humble Bearer (Thaumaturge Class Archetype)

You once lived a simple life. Whether you were once a fisher, a merchant, or a farmhand, there was a time you never worried about mythical creatures like dragons razing your life to the ground. Until one such creature reared it's massive head. It's presence spread despair like plague- a harbinger of certain doom, with none to stand against it. Maybe you were chosen in a moment of need. Maybe you sought out the one weapon that could finally bring peace to your valley. Maybe it was handed down from generation to generation. Whatever the case, you, a pauper with no training or talent, lifted forth your implement of hope: now, you can push back against the titans.

Humble Bearer [1st]

You must select Humble Bearer Dedication as your 2nd-level class feat.

Prerequisites You must be a thaumaturge.

Humble Bearer Adjustments Your Implement's Empowerment class feature is replaced with Wyrmsbane Empowerment, below. You do not gain the Second Adept class feature.

Implement selection is adjusted as follows:

First implement: Your first implement must be Weapon, but it can be a one- or two-handed weapon. If wielded two-handed (including weapons with the two-handed trait), its damage die cannot exceed d8.

Your weapon implement is difficult to lose or destroy. If it is ever lost or destroyed, it finds it's way back to you during your next daily preparations through mysterious means.

Second and Third Implements: Choose from Bell, Lantern, Mirror, Regalia, or Wand. Instead of picking a separate item, your weapon implement itself gains the physical properties and abilities of the chosen type(s). You do not gain that implement's Intensify Vulnerability or Adept Benefit as normal.

Special If you select the Intense Implement Feat, you gain the adept benefit for either your second or third implement.

Wyrmsbane Empowerment The power of your weapon implement is unmatched. When you Strike with your implement, you can call upon the powers within the weapon to deal 2 additional damage per weapon damage die. This increases to 3 additional damage per weapon damage die against a creature with the dragon or giant trait. You don't gain the benefit of Wyrmsbane Empowerment if you are holding anything in either hand other than your implement.

At 5th level, your wyrmsbane empowerment increases to 5 damage against creatures with dragon or giant trait. Additionally, you gain your implement's critical specialization effect.

At 9th level, you can cast Locate, heightened to 5th rank, once per day as long as you are holding your implement.

At 11th level, your implement gains the effect of a fearsome rune, but only against creatures with the dragon or giant trait that are the target of your Exploit Vulnerability. This effect doesn't take up one of your implement's rune slots.

Humble Bearer Dedication

Feat 2

archetypededication

Prerequisites Humble bearer

Your attacks and movement are unfettered. The frightened condition does not give you penalties to attack rolls using your implement. Additionally, your movement does not provoke reactions from the target of your Exploit Vulnerability.

Additional Feats

The Bigger They Are

Feat 4

archetypethaumaturge

You've learned that size alone does not guarantee victory, and you refuse to be swayed by it. You gain a +1 status bonus to AC and fear effects against creatures that are the target of your Exploit Vulnerability, provided they are Large or larger. If an effect originating from this target inflicts the Fleeing condition on you, you may instead choose to hold your ground, becoming Immobilized for the duration of the Fleeing condition.

The Harder They Fall aa

Feat 6

archetypeattackflourishthaumaturge

Prerequisites Humble bearer, The Bigger They Are
Requirements You're wielding your implement.

Make a Strike with your implement against a Large or larger creature that is the target of your Exploit Vulnerability. On a success, the target must succeed at a Reflex save against your class DC or be knocked prone. On a critical success, the result of the target's save is reduced by one step.

If the target is flying, it instead falls 60 feet on a failed save, or 120 feet on a critical failure; if it hits the ground, it takes falling damage and can attempt to Arrest its Fall as normal. In addition, on a failed save, it can't Fly again until the end of it's next turn. Regardless of the result, the target is temporarily immune to The Harder They Fall for one minute.

Special If a Large or larger creature critically fails a Strike against you, or you critically succeed a Reflex save against an effect originaing from it, that creature loses any temporary immunity it had to The Harder They Fall.

Seven at One Blow aa

Feat 8

archetypeconcentrateflourishthaumaturge

Prerequisites Humble bearer
Requirements You're wielding your implement.
Frequency Once per 10 minutes

Your implement's power is capable of rebounding to several other creatures at a time. Make a Strike wth your implement against the target of your Exploit Vulnerability. If it hits, the target of the Strike and each enemy within 10 feet of it must attempt a basic Reflex save against your class DC or take damage equal to your implement's weapon damage dice. This damage is of a type dealt by your implement, chosen when you make the Strike.

Shield the Village r

Feat 10

archetypethaumaturge

You throw yourself into the effect's path. If you were outside of the effect's area, you Step into the area of the triggering effect, switching positions with the triggering ally if necessary. Your ally gains greater cover against the triggering Reflex save, and resistance to damage originating from the effect equal to your level.

Those Who Carried It Before

Feat 12

archetypethaumaturge

Prerequisites Humble bearer

Your implement has known many previous bearers, and it lends you some of their. The first time each day you attempt to Exploit Vulnerability against a creature with the dragon or giant trait, treat the result as a critical success. Additionally, once per day when you fail to Exploit Vulnerability, you may reroll. You must use the new result.

Feat 14

archetypethaumaturge

Prerequisites Humble bearer
Requirements You're adjacent to a creature at least one size category larger than you that is the target of your Exploit Vulnerability.

Attempt an Athletics check to Climb against the creature's Reflex DC. On a success, you begin climbing the creature. While climbing on the creature, you are concealed to it. In addition, the creature is off-guard to any Strikes you make against it while you are climbing on it. If you take damage from a Strike made by the creature while you are climbing on it, you are thrown off and are no longer climbing. When you would be thrown off for any reason, you may spend your reaction to become slowed 1 until the end of your next turn to prevent being thrown off.

Just as your sworn foe is about to fell you, a vision of your humble origins comes to mind- a beautiful vision of home, a place you promised yourself long ago to once again return to. With a sudden burst of clarity, you raise your implement high: now is not your time. Make a Strike against the triggering creature. If it hits, you remain standing at 1 Hit Point, and gain temporary Hit Points equal to double your level.
