Memory dragons appoint themselves as custodians of experiences and histories, preserving stolen and gifted memories within their peralescent glassy scales. Though their build resembles that of other occult dragons, their shimmering scales contain multitudes of moments gathered over centuries. Their hordes consist of everything from mundane childhood recollections to forgotten spells, ancient rituals and secrets whose keepers have long since died. When a memory dragon sheds a scale, the memories held within remain intact, leading these dragons to carefully preserve their cast-off scales among their most treasured possessions.
Memory dragons prefer observation over participation and often make their lairs near settlements where new experiences are plentiful. Despite their proximity to other creatures, memory dragons are typically wary of direct interaction and become particularly suspicious of anyone who takes too great an interest in their collections.
Many memory dragons consider themselves impartial archivists, preserving experiences that might otherwise disappear from the world. Others come to believe that possessing the past gives them the right to shape it. Such dragons might alter a memory before sharing it, replace the name upon a hero's grave, or carefully reveal one secret in hopes of providing events that create another they deem worth collecting. To these dragons, history is not merely something to preserve, but something to curate.
Memory dragon spellcasters tend to cast the following spells.

Memory dragon lairs are often a quiet affair, illuminated by only a handful of carefully placed light sources. Strings and charms woven from shed scales hang from walls and ceilings, their pearlescent surfaces projecting fleeting glimpses of stored memories in shifting hues across the surrounding chambers. Their hoards tend to contain less material wealth than those of other dragons, favouring objects for the memories attached to them rather than their monetary value. A king's fabled sword or a tome representing a scholar's life's work might rest beside a child's first doll, a graduation parchment from a long-forgotten academy, or the engagement ring of a passionate couple not meant to be. Though such collections might appear haphazard to outsiders, memory dragons preserve every curated object with meticulous care, treasuring the unremarkable moments of forgotten lives just as readily as the events that shaped history.
The memory dragon Riakonash wanders the River Kingdoms, relocating her lair whenever the stories surrounding her begin to feel settled. She often takes human form to walk unnoticed through unfamiliar settlements, attending festivals, trials, weddings, funerals, and other moments their participants might remember for the rest of their lives. Riakonash has a particular fascination with newly risen nobility and sometimes offers young rulers memories of those who held power before them in exchange for the chance to witness the beginnings of their own reign. More than one ambitious ruler has sought her counsel, unaware that Riakonash is just as interested in preserving the memory of their eventual downfall as well as every achievement.

Stray Memories (aura, mental, occult) The memories stored within the dragon's scales seep into its surroundings. When a creature attempts to Recall Knowledge within 10 miles of the dragon, it must first attempt a DC 5 flat check. On a failure, the creature instead recalls one of the dragon's stored memories instead of the desired information. The creature experiences the memory as though recalling something it personally witnessed. Once a creature has failed the flat check, it is immune to this effect for 24 hours.
Burned into Memory (occult) Trigger A creature within 60 feet hits the dragon with an attack; Effect The dragon commits the techniques and methods of the triggering creature to its infallible memory. The triggering creature is off-guard to the dragon until the end of the dragon's next turn.
New Moment (occult) Frequency once per hour; Trigger The dragon is targeted with a spell of 6th rank or lower; Effect A new scale glistens upon the dragon's hide as it memorises the triggering spell. The dragon gains the triggering spell as an innate occult spell at the rank at which it was cast and can cast the spell once per day. The dragon retains this innate spell until it uses New Moment again.

Creatures in the area are concealed and creatures outside are concealed to creatures within. The dragon ignores this concealment.
Relive the Wound (fear, concentrate, mental, occult) The dragon forces one creature within 60 feet to vividly relive an injury it recently suffered, dealing 4d6 mental damage (DC 32) basic Will save. A creature that fails its save is also frightened 1 (or frightened 2 on a critical failure).
