Trohalix Hoard of Draconic Runes

Trohalix Hoard of Draconic Runes

Deep in the deserts of Thuvia, Trohalix's lair is breached and destroyed. The Rune Dragons hoard has been stolen and spread freely through the universe by Cinder Cultists. While many Runemsmiths celebrate for the deep knowledge unrooted, Throhalix knows this is but a prelude to the destruction that the cults patron dragon plans to unleash with the power of her runes.

Alavabom, Rune of Sunders Regret

Rune 1

arcaneforcerunerunesmith

Usage drawn on an object of your level or lower

This rune instils in the material the same destructive power of a barrage dragon. A creature within 10 feet of the rune that damages the object (including as a part of a Shield Block) is battered by astral energy, taking 2 force damage.

Invocation The rune channels immense kinetic energy from the object. The runes astral energy lasts until the beginning of your next turn. The astral energy deals 1d4+1 force damage to each creature in a 10-foot emanation of the runebearer when the object is damaged. Unlike other emanations, this force damage affects the object and any creature holding or wearing the object, and this damage is not affected by the object's hardness.

Level (+2) The damage from the astral energy increases by 1, and the invocations damage increases by 1d4+1.

Avshek, Rune of Gems

Rune 1

primalearthrunerunesmith

Usage drawn on a creature

This rune shines like the scales of a gem dragon. As long as the rune-bearer is on the ground, it can always Take Cover action by producing a wall of crystal. This wall grants standard cover to the rune-bearer. The wall lasts until the start of the rune-bearer's next turn or until the rune-bearer moves out of its space, whichever happens first.

Invocation A shrapnel of crystal explodes forward in a 30-foot line, dealing 1d4 piercing damage with a basic Reflex save. A creature who critically fails this save becomes clumsy 1 until the beginning of your next turn.

Level (+2) The invocation damage increases by 1d4.

Cacki, Rune of Corals

Rune 1

primalrunerunesmithwater

Usage drawn on a ranged weapon that requires ammunition

This rune proliferates the powerful water jets of a coral dragon. A weapon with this rune can be used to produce a concentrated projectile of water each time the rune-bearer reloads this weapon. On a successful Strike using this water projectile, the target is pushed 5 feet away (10 feet on a critical hit). This projectile is harmlessly destroyed at the end of the rune-bearer's next turn.

Invocation The rune proliferates through the ammunition of this weapon. The next successful Strike made with this weapon until the start of your next turn causes coral to grow through the target, making all squares hazard terrains that deal 1 piercing damage until the end of the target's next turn.

Level (+2) The invocation damage increases by 1.

Gengenka, Rune of Shadowplay

Rune 1

occultrunerunesmithshadow

Usage drawn on the shadow of a creature

This pale glowing rune puppets shadow like an umbral dragon's claws. If the runebearer starts its turn in darkness or cannot emit a shadow, the rune immediately fades. When the rune-bearer uses an interact action, its shadow can immediately perform another interact action, such as to reload, pass an item or open a door. The shadow can't activate magic items, perform actions that require a skill check or hold items.

Invocation the shadow unroots from the ground to attack. Until the start of your next turn, the next time the rune-bearer makes a melee Strike, the shadow can attack a different creature within reach. The rune-bearer compares the attack roll result to the AC of both foes. Roll damage only once and apply it to each creature hit.

Kailend, Rune of Terror

Rune 1

emotionfearmentaloccultrunerunesmith

Usage drawn on a creature

This rune imprints the will of despair dragons on anything it can perceive, and no matter where it's originally drawn, it always moves towards the eye of its rune-bearer. Each time the rune-bearer ends its turn adjacent to a hostile creature, it becomes frightened 1.

Invocation The rune panics its target with insurmountable fear. The runebearer must succeed at a Will save or become frightened 1 (frightened 2 on a critical failure). If the runebearer is already frightened, it becomes frightened 2 (or frightened 3 on a critical failure).

Scaarswa, Rune of Shrieking

Rune 1

arcanerunerunesmithsonic

Usage drawn on an object of your level or lower

This rune seeks to sing and belch like a wailing dragon. If the rune-bearer doesn't spend at least one action with the auditory trait in its turn, the rune screams from its inside, making the rune-bearer off-guard until the begining of it's next turn and becoming observed if it was hidden.

Invocation The rune releases an ear-piercing screech. The rune-bearer and each creature in a 15-foot cone takes 1d6 sonic damage with a basic Fortitude save.

Level (+2) The invocation damage increases by 1d4.

Torwign, Rune of Commitments

Rune 1

divineemotionmentalrunerunesmith

Usage drawn on a creature

This shining rune officiates a promise with the blessings of an oath dragon. When you etch or trace this rune, the rune-bearer names a creature it can see within 30 feet to become its bond. Whenever the bonded creature is damaged by a creature, the rune-bearer gains a +1 status bonus to attack rolls against the creature until the end of its next turn.

Invocation As the oath comes to an end, the rune gleams with a shine of devotion. Each creature in a 15-foot cone of the runebearer takes 1d4 spirit damage with a basic Fortitude save. The bonded creature is immune to this damage and gains 1d4 temporary hit points if it's in the area.

Level (+2) The invocation damage and temporary hit points increase by 1d4.

Tulv, Rune of Rebirth

Rune 1

divinehealingrunerunesmithvitality

Usage drawn on a creature

This rune hungers to consume death like the voracious resurrection dragon. When etched and at the start of each turn, the rune-bearer gains 2 temporary hit points.

Shi-, Diacritic Rune of Advice

Rune 5

diacriticmagicalrunerunesmith

Usage drawn on a rune

This diacritic rune whispers coordinations on how to wield the power of the base rune. Creatures with this diactric rune can choose to not be affect by the base rune constant effects and invocation, and can choose to apply those effects to a creature within 15 feet. If the base rune has a condition to apply its effect, the target must have fulfilled the same condition since the beginning of its last turn or be unaffected.
