Wyrmfoe

Wyrmfoe

As you finally put an end to the dragon's death throes, you felt a surge of cursed magic flow into you. Instead of hurting you, it shifted your perspective on dragons. The line between hunter and prey blurred, a new uneasy drive grew within you; the more dragons you slay, the stronger you get, the more of them you will attract, emboldened by vengeance.

Mysterious Cause

The true origin and ultimate purpose of the wyrmfoe curse is unknown. It's just as likely to have begun as the final wish of a dying dragon, or of an enemy of dragon-kind. Maybe even both. The curse goads wyrmfoe and dragons in equal measure, fueling a cycle of escalating violence. The wyrmfoe curse usually only ends with the death of the wyrmfoe.

Wyrmfoe Dedication

Feat 2

uncommonarchetypecursededicationmagical

Prerequisites You have slain a dragon

You have accepted the curse of the wyrmfoe, marking yourself as an enemy to dragonkind, and revealing one to another, although everything seems tinged with draconic influence to you. You have a wyrmfoe intensity, which starts at 2, and increases by 2 every time you kill a dragon, up to a maximum equal to half your level or 4, whichever is higher. You don't have to land the killing blow to increase your wyrmfoe intensity, or to qualify for this dedication, just actively contribute to its death.

You gain a status bonus to Perception checks against dragons equal to half your wyrmfoe intensity. If a dragon is invisible, it is concealed to you instead, or if it was already concealed for any other reason, it is not concealed to you. Dragons gain these same bonuses and benefits against you.
When you take this dedication feat, and whenever you slay a dragon thereafter, the wyrmfoe curse immediately casts sending, targeting a dragon which the slain dragon knew well, but of a level no greater than 4 plus your level. Its message names the slain dragon, you, your description, and your location. You gain the Cursebolster action. The DC for an ability gained via this archetype is either your class DC or spell DC, whichever is higher, and is called your Wyrmfoe DC.

Cursebolster a

concentratecursemagicalmorph

The wyrmfoe curse bolsters your dragon slaying ability, or finds you a worthy adversary if none are near. You Strike a target. If you hit, and it's a dragon, you gain a status bonus to damage rolls against that target equal to your wyrmfoe intensity for 1 minute. If you hit, and it's not a dragon, the target must succeed at a Fortitude save against your Wyrmfoe DC or gain the dragon trait for 1 minute. The target can choose to fail its Fortitude save, and gain a +1 status bonus to all checks and DCs until the end of its next turn. Creatures made dragons this way only temporarily increase your wyrmfoe intensity by 1 until your next daily preparations.

Special This feat can't be retrained until the curse is removed. Any attempt to counteract this curse has a result that is one degree of success worse if you are unwilling, unless the source of the counteract is a dragon. Use your Wyrmfoe DC as the counteract DC.

Embody Wyrm

Feat 2

archetypegeneralskill

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

To better know how to destroy your enemy, you must become your enemy. Your body takes on superficial draconic features, and you gain the dragon trait, meaning effects that harm or benefit dragons can also harm or benefit you. The curse also floods your mind with knowledge; you learn the Draconic language, and gain the Additional Lore feat for Dragon Lore.

Wyrmfoe's Disposition

Feat 4

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

Your curse imbues you with draconic personality and guile. When you gain the status bonus to damage rolls from Cursebolster against a target, you also gain a status bonus to Intimidation and Deception checks against that target equal to half your wyrmfoe intensity.

Prideful Determination

Feat 4

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

Your pride can overcome even the most frightful dragon's presence. Whenever you become frightened, reduce your frightened value by 1 (to a minimum of 0), and if reduced to 0 and the source of the frightened condition is a creature, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to attacks against that creature until the end of your next turn.

Mitigate Frenzy r

Feat 6

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication
Trigger a creature targets you with an action which includes one or more Strikes

You mitigate the accuracy of frenzied attacks, a tactic common to dragons, and dampen their momentum. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to your AC against those Strikes, and the triggering creature doesn't recharge abilities from critically hitting you with them.

Dragonbane Weapon

Feat 6

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

During your daily preparations, you can enhance one weapon with the bane (dragon) weapon property rune until your next daily preparations. This rune does not count toward the maximum limit of runes for that weapon, but goes dormant while the weapon is wielded by anyone but you.

Hoard of Scales

Feat 8

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

Whenever you slay a dragon, you tear a handful of scales from their hide to add to your hoard of scales. During daily preparations, you can choose 2 types of dragons whose scales you have in your hoard, and you gain a +2 status bonus to saving throws against damage effects that share a damage type with those dragons' breath, and you gain resistance to those damage types equal to your wyrmfoe intensity. This increases to 3 types of dragons at 16th-level.

Terrifying Plummet

Feat 10

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

Your curse robs dragons of their aerial advantage and crushes their resolve. Once per hour each, you can cast earthbind and agonizing despair as innate 3rd-rank arcane spells. You can cast both spells as a 3-action activity if they both target one same dragon.

Enraging Infamy

Feat 12

archetype

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

Your enemies have a difficult time staying rational when they find out about the carnage you've inflicted upon dragons. Improve your Demoralize results against dragons by one degree of success. Additionally, when you successfully Demoralize any creature, you can replace Demoralize's effects with the following.
Critical Success The target is stupefied 2, and off-guard, until the end of your next turn.
Success The target is stupefied 1, and off-guard against you, until the end of your next turn.

Hoard-skin r

Feat 14

archetypeconcentratemorph

Prerequisites Embody Wyrm, Hoard of Scales
Trigger You would take damage.

Your hoard of scales has merged with you to cover your skin, and you shift them around to protect you from different threats. Replace one of your chosen dragon types from Hoard of Scales with another from your hoard, changing the damage type you gain the bonus and resistance against. Additionally, increase the resistance you gain from your scales by 2 against the triggering damage.

Wyrmfoe's Invitation f

Feat 16

archetypeconcentrateteleportation

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication
Trigger You would roll initiative, and you and a foe within 60 feet are aware of each other

Your curse invites the enemy to join you in battle. The triggering creature attempts a Will save. If the target is a dragon, they may choose a worse result.
Critical Success No effect.
Success You teleport up to 60 feet towards the triggering creature. If you end up adjacent to each other, they can Strike you as a free action, and then you Strike them back as a free action.
Failure As success, but you Strike before they do instead.
Critical Failure As failure, but the target is off-guard to your Strike.

Wyrm-reaving Strike aa

Feat 18

archetypedeath

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication
Requirements You have at least 4 wyrmfoe intensity

You sacrifice some of your accumulated power to crush an enemy in one attack. Make a Strike. If you hit, and it's a dragon, your Strike deals 1d4 extra precision damage for every point of wyrmfoe intensity. If you hit, and it's not a dragon, your Strike deals precision damage equal to your wyrmfoe intensity. Then reduce your wyrmfoe intensity by 2 until your next daily preparations. The creature is temporarily immune to your Wyrm-reaving Strike for 1 day.

Hasten the End aa

Feat 20

archetypeconcentratecurseincapacitation

Prerequisites Wyrmfoe Dedication

You manifest the most potent form of your curse to bring you and your enemy ever closer to death. Choose a dragon within 60 feet. Unless they succeed at a Will save against your Wyrmfoe DC, you are both doomed 3, and you both take untyped persistent damage equal to your wyrmfoe intensity. They may choose to fail the save. This persistent damage can only be removed after either of you is dead. Anyone slain while taking this persistent damage can't be resurrected except by a wish ritual or a similarly powerful effect. If you aren't aware of any dragons within range, you can instead choose any creature, but neither of you are doomed 3.
