Hey all of our homebrewes, over the past two months we’ve had a fun, low stakes competition about combining classes to make a new class archetype. Many members on the discord submitted entries to the hybrid homebrew competition, and a few of the mod team have picked our favorites. Our favorites were picked for a wide variety of reasons, including balance, flavor, gameplay, and presentation.

Even if you did not get featured here, we have enjoyed looking at every submission, and loved to see collaboration within the community. We hope to see people publish their work from this contest; there were many incredible designs posted throughout the jam!

In the near future, we plan on hosting an official contest called Tourney of the Tatzelwyrm. Keep your eyes out for more information, and happy brewing to everyone.

ArtfulOrpheus’s Arcane Strategist: Combining three classes is difficult, but this class archetype works very well. The Arcane Strategist combines Investigator, Magus, and Commander to allow for a wide variety of options to take in combat without feeling too busy. (Plus one of the mod team very much loves Investigator.)

Rumel’s Phantom Councillor: The flavour presented by this homebrew is evocative, and immediately opens up a few character concepts.

CthulhuGOS’s Alchemical Marksman: A change to the gunslinger to allow for some more support (or debuffing) as opposed to gunslinger’s normal loop.

Stargaladin’s Canny Contraptionist: This archetype looks deceptively simple, but it has a lot of depth when you really get into it. A very modular and flexible hex cantrip that can produce a variety of really neat effects, from simple damage to battlefield control, while having its own twists and bobs depending on the tradition you choose, with feats that can further add to this singular cantrip. Really cool stuff!

DrGoo’s Ragabash: A really cool take on an Intimidation-based rogue class archetype, with a lot of customization options if you want to commune further with your apparition, or get cool rogue feats with an Animist twist to them. Its exclusive focus spells complete the package.

Michael Hosp/Offline Enigma’s Kettle Witch: An interesting take on a magical Alchemist. Trading alchemical items for potions and oils has its own pros and cons, which makes this research field already alluring. What really sells the archetype is how well it intertwines with hexes, and how both quick alchemy and the latter build off each other.
